Regional Governance Review
Scope
The Province is reviewing the governance, decision-making, and service delivery functions of selected regional governments and their lower-tier municipalities. The Region of Peel and its lower-tier municipalities of Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga are included in this review.
Purpose
The review aims to help ensure that these municipalities are working effectively and efficiently and can continue to provide the vital services that communities depend on.
Timing
In early Summer of 2019, the special advisors are expected to provide recommendations to the Minister on opportunities to improve regional governance and service delivery.
Consultation
The Province has invited individuals and organizations to participate in provincial consultations through in person presentations, written submissions and an online survey closing on May 21, 2019.
Caledon residents also have the opportunity to provide feedback directly to Council in two ways: by taking an online survey or attending in-person “Coffee with Council” sessions. The survey closes May 16 at 11:59 p.m.
