Snowshoeing the Bruce in Spring :)

What was supposed to be a spring hike turned out to be winter wonderland snowshoeing on this beautiful last day of March. We showshoed the Bruce Trail and side trails just north of 5 Sideroad where the Bruce Trail joins the Oak Ridges Trail. The start of the trail goes through a beautiful pine plantation with the Harmony Side Trail heading north and a little further down Darcy’s Side Trail heading south.

The freshly fallen snow did not deter people from going out to enjoy nature and the freshly fallen snow as footprints and ski tracks can be seen on the main trail. The side trails were a little less traveled. It was great to be making the first footprints on the Darcy Side Trail, but the snow on the sides of the trees covered most of the blazes which made it a little tricky to find the direction of the trail.
