Caledon’s Davis Family Farm Raised $14,054 for the Canadian Celiac Association – Sunflower Fields
August 7th, 2018
Caledon’s Davis Family Farm has been farming sunflowers for over 10 years and this year for a $5.00 entrance fee they opened their farm to the public to experience the beauty of their majestic sunflower fields.
With all the craziness this summer with sunflower selfies the Davis Family did it right creating 3 kms of hiking trails around the fields so that visitors can enjoy them from all sides while raising awareness and money for a good cause. Visitors drove for hours to experience the beauty and snap some shots while being respectful to the Davis family and the farm.
As both, Sean Davis and his son Weston, have celiac disease the family decided early on to donate $1.00 of each admission fee to the Canadian Celiac Association (kids under 12 were free). They raised $14,054 for the Canadian Celiac Association and $500 for Parkinson’s Canada with the sunflower yoga.
A message from the Davis’ family:
Well that’s a wrap! Our sunflower fields are now CLOSED to the public for another year. We would like to thank everyone for coming to visit our farm and sharing your experiences with us. See you all next summer!
