UPDATE: A local passerby was at the scene when it happened and saw a man sitting on the ground, about 20 to 30 feet from the white/light silver vehicle in the ditch, with a shirt around his neck to stop the bleeding.

Airport Road has been closed for a few hours from Old Base Line to Old Church Road for an investigation of a stabbing that occurred in the area around the intersection of Airport Road and Olde Base Line.

Although local residents with driver licence proof of address are let through from the north side of the closure, everyone coming from the south side is being re-routed.

Just north of Olde Base Line on the east side of Airport Road a light silver vehicle can be seen in the ditch surrounded by firetrucks and police, but it is not yet known if it is one of the vehicles involved in the incident.

According to a release, at approximately 2:18 p.m., OPP responded to an incident on Airport that resulted in a male victim found stabbed with an edged weapon. The victim has been transported to hospital and the extent of his injuries is not known. Currently, OPP are reporting four male parties have been taken into custody with respect to this incident.
