Today with the “Take a HIKE” Caledon Ladies Hiking and Meet Up Group we hiked a 9km loop on the Bruce Trail, Robert MacLaren Side Trail and the Iroquoia Heights Side Trail. Although our goal was to see lots of waterfalls and cascades the waterfall flow was minimal to none. Aside from that it was a great hike enjoying the fall colours, beautiful trails and the views from the cliffs of the Niagara Escapement overlooking Hamilton and Lake Ontario.
We started the hike at Cliffview Park down the enormous stairs leading to the Bruce Trail. It’s a good thing we did a loop avoiding going up them 🙂
Once we finished our hike I drove to Devil’s Punchbowl Conservation Area to check the flow of the falls, but there was only a trickle. Parts of the trails were closed with police caution tape.
