Today was my favourite day of our holiday visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park. Expanding over 295 square kilometres it is the oldest park in Southeast Europe. It has 16 beautiful turquoise lakes cascading into each other with hundreds of the most amazing and impressive waterfalls. The park has been added to the the UNESCO World Heritage register and it really is one of natures most magnificent creation.
As it is a protected area there is no swimming anywhere in the park for the preservation of it’s natural beauty and lakes so on our way back to Rijeka we stopped at a beautiful beach along the cost of the Adriatic Sea.
