Spencer Gorge Loop Trail as Mapped out by the MapMyWalk App

Hamilton, also known as “The City of Waterfalls,” is the home of over 100 waterfalls as identified by the Hamilton Conservation Authority. Although some waterfalls are on private property and others hard to get to, numerous beautiful, breathtaking waterfalls can be found along The Bruce Trail (BT Map 8) and the Niagra Escarpment.

One of the goals this summer is to visit as many of Hamilton’s waterfalls as possible. As we have already visited the amazing Albion Falls, today we set out to hike Spencer Gorge where Webster’s Falls, Baby Webster’s Falls, Tew’s Falls, Lower Tew’s Falls and a few other falls can be found along The Bruce Trail in Dundas near Hamilton. The hike was close to 10km and took about 3 hours as we also hiked along Spencer Creek which involved some rough side trails that also lead us to some hard to get to waterfalls. The trails are moderate to advanced through beautifully forested areas, lookout points, along train-tracks and of course the amazing waterfalls. If you like the outdoors and getting out for a hike, this one is a must!
