Our hike today with the Caledon Ladies Hiking and Meet Up Group was at Glen Haffy Conservation Area, part of TRCA (Toronto and Region Conservation Areas), located just north of Caledon East. This is another conservation area that the Bruce Trail runs through. It has beautiful forested trails ranging from 0.85 km to 2.7 km. (Green Trail – 0.85 km or 30 minutes, Red Trail – 2.7 km or 60 minutes, and the Blue Trail – 2.5 km or 45 minutes.) Be prepared for some hilly trails and a great workout. The blue trail leads you to a beautiful pond, stocked with rainbow trout, where on any given time you can find people fishing. Today we were very thankful for the beautiful tall trees which protected us from the rain 🙂

Our next events include a FREE “Yoga in the Park,” a hike led by Nicola Ross, author of Caledon Hikes: Loops and Lattes through Hockley Valley, a hike through Caledon East on the Trans Canada Trail, a Boot Camp with Revive Fitness in The Park and Zumba Fitness at Curves in Bolton.

We are also doing a fundraiser to raise money to purchase a rock bench that everyone can use on The Trans Canada Trail and plant a tree or two where needed along the trail. Although the members of the group will be donating money at a small fundraiser we are having that includes a hike and get together. If anyone wishes to help with our cause you can click the link to donate and be entered to win some great prizes. https://www.gofundme.com/xata44.

If you live in Caledon, surrounding areas or you are willing to make the drive to one of our hikes or events, request to join our Facebook Group for times and dates of upcoming events. (For safety and so that we know who is joining the group, ensure that your profile picture is of yourself. Once you have asked to join you will receive a message in your inbox, be sure to check it.) Looking forward to seeing all of you at our next hike or meet up!
