The Cheltenham Badlands Have Officially Been Fenced Off, Caledon, Ontario

What used to be one of Caledon’s main attractions is now officially closed and fenced off to visitors. The Cheltenham Badlands can still be seen from Old Base Line Road, but visitors will not be able to enter the site as about a 4ft fence has been erected around them to protect them. They have been one of Caledon’s most visited sites for years, but traffic congestion, safety, the protection of the badlands and the concern by nearby residence has led to closure until a further plan can be put in place. Access will only be available to hikers on The Bruce Trail and the side trails which have recently been reopened.
